We would like to propose a weekend of wine culture at Bodegas Dionisos, in Valdepeñas, a traditional family-run winery where we make organic wines that also take into consideration the influence of the moon’s cycles and rhythms on biological processes. We would also like to focus on the most ancient culture of the region by visiting the Iberian archaeological site and visitor centre, “El Cerro de las Cabezas”, in Valdepeñas.

•    12.30 pm: Complete guided tour of BODEGAS DIONISOS. We would like to propose a weekend of wine and wine culture by learning, enjoying and appreciating the art of wine production in a family-run winery against the backdrop of Valdepeñas, a town with a rich wine-producing tradition. We shall do our best to make the weekend different, in order to let the rhythm of agriculture’s tranquillity, the silence of the earthenware wine jars and the stillness of the cave fill our senses and emotions. For this we shall begin with a complete guided tour of the winery and its facilities.  

•    1.30 pm: Afterwards, we shall taste 5 different wines; white wine, young and barrel-aged red wines, classic wines and those made by taking the moon and constellations into consideration. An appropriate appetizer shall accompany each wine to enhance the flavours of both.

•    2.30 pm: Typical lunch at the winery, with the most traditional recipes of La Mancha and Don Quixote.

•    5.30 pm: Guided tour of the Iberian archaeological site, “El Cerro de las Cabezas” and its Visitor centre (Valdepeñas). This shall take approximately 1 hour and a half.

•    Accommodation shall be provided at the 3-star Rural Hotel “La Venta de las Estrellas”, located on the estate of the “El Conuco” vineyard.

In this peaceful and reminiscent place with typical traditional designs, we offer accommodation, a dining hall and activity areas linked to wine, organic agriculture and nature.

The green of the vineyards, the magnificent sunsets and the local winemaking customs provide the perfect framework to relax and become surrounded by the culture of wine.
