Cutting edge wine tourism in Ciudad Real
Ciudad Real is the only province in the peninsula with two National Parks; and it also has the largest area of vineyards under cultivation in the world. And if we add the cutting edge Pago del Vicario hotel and winery, then the mixture is impossible to beat.
Day 1:
• 11:00 am: Guided tour of the amazing PAGO DEL VICARIO winery, which was created as a Wine Tourism Centre, located just a few kilometres from Ciudad Real.
The winery, with its avant- garde shape, impresses everyone who sees it. The winery stands within the vineyard, and is set against the backdrop of the foothills of the mountains of Toledo. The winery combines modern design with tradition, charm and contrasts, and a romantic atmosphere.
Following the tour, we will taste 3 of the winery’s wines, and we will then have lunch in the winery’s own restaurant.
• 14:00 pm: “Long menu” lunch with matching wines. This project was established in 2000 and has its own restaurant, from which we can enjoy spectacular views of the vineyards and the winery building.
• This ambitious development includes the 4 star hotel where we will be staying, which has a swimming pool set between ancient adobe walls, holm oaks and over 7,000 m2 of gardens. The hotel’s original and innovative design provides accommodation which will be to the taste of even the most demanding of guests.
Day 2:
• Breakfast and check-out
