Wineries

Surrounded by vineyards, fresh air and peaceful nature, the imposing architecture of Bodegas Lahoz arises. In the past century the Lahoz family started their journey into the exciting world of viticulture when they planted their first vineyards. The extension of the vineyard continues to growyear after year in the same measure that their enthusiasm to elaborate their own wines grows. Thus in the year 2004 the first grape harvest of this great winery finally took place.

Located in the great Manchego plateau, this winery counts with a total of 500 hectares of own vineyard, shared out between diverse varieties of autochthonous and foreign grapes, in which the main exponent is the Tempranillo variety. There are also other plantations of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, for their red wines and Airén, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for their white wines.

This extensive vineyard surface is shared out between three important Pagos, Nieva, Pantano and Vega Córcoles. It is on the Nieva Estate, located in the municipal term of Socuéllamos, where Bodegas Lahoz is found, surrounded by 180 hectares of Tempranillo growing in the classic clayey, dry and not very deep Manchego soil, which is very adequate for low yield production for high quality wines. The Pantano Estate is found right alongside the Peñarroya Reservoir, where only 40 hectares of the 150 hectares of scrubland to be found here are actually cultivated with vines, while the rest is destined to arable land. And finally we have the Vega Córcoles Estate, which takes its name fromthe river that irrigates it, representing the largest Pago of the property and in which vine stocks that aremore than 30 years old can be found.

A moderate, practically monastic ambience can be felt throughout the entire winery, where the wines are born and rest in the most complete nurturing silence. From the processing area, where tradition and technology are perfectly combined, right through to the cask ageing area and concluding in the noble area, visitors can enjoy and experience this winery in all its intensity.
