Wineries

The Dionisio family winery is located in the urban center of Valdepeñas, La Ciudad del Vino (The City of Wine), in a typical Manchegostyle house dating fromthe 18th century,which integrates both thewinery and their home. Close on hand, in the plateau found just before Valdepeñas, at the foot of the A-4Highway (Madrid-Andalucia), the El Conuco Estate is to be found,measuring 30 hectares in surface, inwhich biologically cultivated vineyards, which fully respect the cosmic rhythms are to be found, the same according to themost ancient of traditions that are now under study and being recuperated. The vineyards are bush trained, a traditional system that best adapts to the conditions of the dry climate. The combination of using natural fertilizers and an absence of chemical products to protect the vineyard results in balanced grapes.


La Venta de las Estrellas, a rural accommodation, is likewise foun don this estate, representing a welcoming space, decorated with warm, cozy colors that can accommodate up to 24 persons, including a restaurant where regional cuisine can be enjoyed, apart from meeting and celebration halls for all sorts of events.

At this winery mythology and the cosmos walk hand-in-hand, the first resulting from the name of the Greek God of wine, the second by observing the sky and then applying its influences in the elaboration. Guests are immersed in a beautiful space in which the cave excavated right out of the rock at a depth of 9 meters is to be highlighted, which is where wines were stored in the summertime for their subsequent sale in wineskins. Likewise a typical bay with huge earthenware vats can also be found. The cosmos and its rhythms also accompany the guest, who will enjoy the chance to see how the proprietor family carries out the different processes involved in wine elaboration in joint fashion with the phases of the moon and positions of the planets and constellations... “We will feel the fermentation that transforms the substances, aroma and smoothness of thewines inthe earthenware vats; and deep in the soil, in the cave,we will perceive evolution of the aging process in casks. All of this with the objective of surprising and making known the nuances that these processes contribute to the taste of the wine and regional dishes, and all this in a frame replete with charm, to thus enjoy a relaxing and friendly moment”, comments Dionisio de Nova, proprietor of the estate. Other leisure activities that take place at thewinery are Fin de Semana Entrecopas (Weekend amongst glasses ofwine), Día de Vendimia(HarvestDay), Jornada Dionisos (Dionisos’Day) or a plan in which everyone can participate, Ven a hacer tu vino con nosotros (Comeandmake your wine with us). Every Saturday a guided tour of the winery starts at 12:30, followed up by lunch.
