
Minaya is strategically located, right in themiddle of the Manchego plateau, territory found along the route between Andalucia and Eastern Spain. Apart from their commercial vocation, the people of this land dedicate a great part of their time and lands to the cultivation of vineyards. South of this location’smunicipal term, almost bordering with La Roda, we find this typically Manchego enclave of the Bonjorne Estate. There are 68 hectares of vineyard planted on its surface, likewise home to an abundance of Pine Trees and Holm Oaks and the building that holds the winery is located right in the middle of the estate.
Founded by the Escribano family, linked to viniculture for generations now, elaborating quality wines from their own vineyards, Bodegas Bonjorne stands out because of its sober Manchego-style architecture, combined with the most vanguard of technologies for the processing of the grapes fromtheir vines, as well as modern harvesting systems and selection, cryomaceration and bottling techniques.
The soil in this area, of a calcareous structure, along with tremendous luminosity result of the 2400 hours of sunlight per year and the continental climate that characterizes the area, render the ideal conditions for the production of quality vines. The temperature and humidity pertaining to this area is also of great importance in the cultivation of healthy grapes, given that the possibility of plagues and diseases such as mildew, oidium tuckeri or botrytis is eliminated, maintaining natural equilibrium with a minimum of phytosanitary treatments.
The autochthonous varieties of Tempranillo and Airén are cultivated in this vineyard, along with other foreign varieties of recognized prestige, amongst which Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Syrah are to be mentioned, with the resulting wines being commercialized under brands such as Bonjorme, Altos del Majanar and Cillero, which are all included in the Tierra de Castilla Wines Denomination of Origin.
